Four Arts and Craft’s Fairs Offer Great Holiday Shopping

 This years Colony Christmas Craft fairs were a great success, thank you to all vendors and shoppers!

Applications for the 2012 Colony Christmas Craft Fair  will be mailed out to previous year vendors on Sept. 21, 2012 and will be due back by October 12, 2012.

Applications for any open space's will be available on October 15, 2012.

Shoppers looking for unusual and unique gift’s have a wide variety of venues to choose from during Colony Christmas. In addition to the unique shops in Palmer, the best of Alaskan handcrafted items will be on display at four different locations throughout Palmer during the holiday celebration.

The historic Palmer Depot is the location of one of the premier showcases of Alaskan made items at the Craft
Fair, Friday, December 09, at 12:00 am. The Depot will be open until 7:00 pm on Friday evening and reopen at 10:00 am on Saturday morning. An information booth, gift wrapping station, and Colony Christmas souvenirs can also be found at the Depot location on Saturday.

On Saturday, the three other crafts fairs kick into operation. One of the largest is held at the Borough Gym, located on Dahlia Street – or across the Quad from the library and Depot. Open from 10:00 am until 7:00, shoppers will find a wide variety of unique gifts for everyone on their shopping lists.

The Alaska Job Corps Center hosts a great crafts fair on the center, located on Cope Industrial Way. There shoppers will find mostly handcrafted items with a flourish and distinctive point of view. Doors are open from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.

Looking for that unique item? Visit the Palmer Senior Center’s annual Crafts Bazaar from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm, at 831 S, Chugach. Shoppers will find a wide variety of hand crafted goods to choose from at this location.

The Colony Christmas arts and crafts events are a great way to support Alaskan artists, your friends and neighbors and find unique and wonderful gifts. Plus, while you’re shopping, the rest of the family can visit Santa, make ornaments for the tree, pet reindeer and go on a sleigh ride!
