YOUR’RE INVITED-                 Palmer Chamber members and residents you are invited to attend the Ground Breaking Ceremony for South Palmer Elementary –Tuesday, June 10th at Noon. South Palmer Elementary is the prototype for future Mat-Su elementary schools. Palmer Arts Council Announcement
 
The Palmer Arts Council, Palmer, AK has received a Mat-Su Health Foundation Grant for $10,000 which will go towards funding the Summer Youth Art Programs for 2008. These programs will be for children and teens ranging in age from 7 to 17 years old.
 
Over the past two years Mat-Su Health Foundation has awarded a series of significant grants used to support programs operated by more than 70 non-profit organizations active in the Mat-Su Borough. “The Mat-Su Health Foundation is actively working to strengthen key organizations and important services which make a significant positive impact in the health and wellness of Mat-Su Valley residents,” commented CEO Vince Curry. For more information about the Mat-Su Health Foundation, please visit their website at www.matsuhealthfoundation.org. The Palmer Arts Council would like to thank the Mat-Su Health Foundation for their financial support and for recognizing the positive and healthy impact we will make on the lives of the children of our community.

Alaska State Elks Association Youth Camp 2008- Registration Now Open!

Do you have a Child or Grandchild (or perhaps a neighbor?) between the ages of 9 and 13 who would enjoy a wonderful week vacation of fun and excitement this summer? Well now is the time and here is your opportunity to get them enrolled!

The Alaska State Elks Association through the coordination of your local Palmer Elks Lodge is offering their annual summer Youth Camp program to the public.
This is a SPACE AVALAILABLE opportunity and you must act with haste in order to enroll your favorite kid TODAY!
 
This fun filled week of interaction with kids from our entire great state offers hiking, team games, canoeing and paddle-boating on our private lake, swimming in our above ground pool, horseshoes, arts & crafts, and more, all ending in a Family Dinner and presentation at the end of the session. Each day begins and ends in honoring our American Flag! We provide a First Aid and Safety class during the camp and continually teach the Principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity. 
 
There is NO cost for this camp! The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is a Fraternal, Non-Profit Organization dedicated to our Country, our Communities, and our fellow man.
